Cremation
When arranging a cremation, the following costs will be incurred.
Crematorium Fee
This is a fee that is paid directly to the crematorium for carrying out the cremation, organists and medical referee's fee and the use of their chapel for your allocated time.
The fee for the use of the chapel at Borders Crematorium is £595.00
The fee for the use of the chapel at Carlisle Crematorium is £667.00
The fee for the use of the chapel at Roucan Loch Crematorium is £620.00
The fee for the use of Mortonhall Crematorium Main Chapel is £619.00
The fee for the use of Mortonhall Crematorium Pentland Chapel is £619.00
The fee for the use of Warriston Crematorium Lorimer Chapel is £610.00
The fee for the use of Warriston Crematorium Cloister Chapel is £610.00
The fee for the use of the chapel at Seafield Crematorium is £610.00
These fees are reviewed and revised annually and are subject to change.
Doctors' Fee for Cremation Certificate
In addition to the fee for the crematorium, there will also be a fee to be paid to each of the doctors who complete the cremation certificates. Currently this fee is set at £76.00 per doctor, giving a total fee payable of £152.00. This fee is set by the British Medical Association, and is reviewed and revised annually.
In addition to these fees, there will be costs to consider for a newspaper notice, flowers, and minister's fee or honorarium if required, the cost of a coffin, and the fees that are paid directly to John Beattie & Sons for the use of our services to arrange and conduct the funeral.
